Y was a collaborative performance piece held on Valentines day 2011. After entering a room adorned with Valentines day memorabilia and light hearted music, an audience of about 50 people answered their phones to a series of seven, politically and socially controversial questions in which they were asked to answer by stepping into a red or blue section that was marked out in the room. However, unbeknownst to the audience, half of the group were listening to a different question that encouraged an answer that contradicted the question the other half were hearing. The performance piece questioned the contemporary forms a publication can take at the same time as presenting a picture of the social choreography of a group of people forced into the role of performers.
